What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

(In a Nutshell) it is...

A SHARED VISION FOR OUR TOWN

A neighbourhood plan is a community-led plan which aims to guide the future development, regeneration and conservation of a specific area i.e. the town parish of Totton and Eling.

A VOICE IN THE PLANNING SYSTEM

Once voted in (via a local referendum), planning officers will have to check if any new developments are in line with the Neighbourhood Plan before making a decision on any planning proposals in the Neighbourhood Plan area.

A TOOL TO EMPOWER OUR TOWN

A Neighbourhood Plan is a way for the residents of Totton and Eling to state what our needs are for the future in the town centre, our transport, green spaces, culture and community, buildings, public spaces and aesthetics.
